Are Your Patients Having Trouble With Medicare? Gather Their Stories!
Putting a face on the problem is how Members of Congress learn and understand complex issues—we need to properly identify and share patient stories.
The best way to bring any issue to life is to show legislators how their constituents are directly affected. Stories about real Medicare beneficiaries being denied access to home infusion, and forced to get care in an acute setting will speak volumes. It happens everyday; we need to make your elected officials see it. Reach out to your discharge planners, referring physicians, caseworkers, and others to find the patient stories we need.
We also need to gather data that demonstrates the cost savings, patient satisfaction, and/or quality care outcomes gained by providing infusion therapy in the home rather than in an institutional setting.
