Job Title: Government Affairs Intern, National Home Infusion Association

Job Description:
The National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) seeks candidates for our Internship Program. The ideal candidates are goal oriented, mission driven, enthusiastic leaders who want to contribute to the changes taking place in the American health care delivery system, while helping to transform the leading home infusion trade association.
The qualified candidates will report directly to the NHIA - Vice President of Legislative Affairs, who is responsible for monitoring the actions of Congress, the Administration and all Federal Agencies related to health care, and works with the NHIA membership to build strong and supportive relationships with outside partners.
Currently, our top legislative priority is helping ensure Medicare patients and their families have access to home infusion therapy in the home, while helping Medicare realize the savings of providing care in this setting. NHIA is leading a major legislative initiative of interested parties to correct this problem.
The Internship Includes:
- Policy research and analysis
- Monitoring and reporting of Congressional Committees
- Tracking legislative developments
- Grassroots development of membership
- Coalition development of outside organizations
- Database entry and management of software systems; (knowledge of Capwiz, Knowlegis, IMIS a plus)
