Opening Entertainment—The Capitol Steps

After initially rolling-up our sleeves to prepare for all the hard work that lies ahead of us at “NHIA 2009” in Baltimore, and in Washington, DC on March 5th for our Legislative Hill Day, let’s take a moment to gain a humor-based perspective on the state of our government when the immensely entertaining comic team, the Capitol Steps, brings their unique brand of comedy to the NHIA stage!

Over twenty-five years ago, the Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. In the years that followed, although not all of the current members of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers, taken together the performers have worked in a total of eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience—just the type of “inside intelligence” we need to secure a clear advocacy success at our 2009 NHIA Legislative Hill Day (not to mention a smile or two along the way…)!

Grand Opening of the NHIA Exposition and Reception

Sunday, March 1 • 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

After the Opening General Session and Entertainment, visit the exhibit hall to relax, mingle, converse over drinks and enjoy hors d’oeuvres—and still have time for dinner plans on your own!
